Christine Gietz

Christine Gietz (PhD, BA, Dip Ed, Cert in Uni Training), has tutored at WEA Sydney since 2012 and was its Education Manager from 2021 to 2025. In 2024 she was runner-up for Community Colleges Australia's Trainer of the Year. She also tutors at The University of Notre Dame in the School of Education where she recently completed her PhD. As a tutor at WEA, she has a passion for teaching poetry, Shakespeare and journal writing. As a tutor at university she is enthusiastically engaged in teaching academic writing and the foundations for teaching. She believes that teaching is both a privilege and a joy and it is this sense of joy in discovery and learning which she hopes to convey to her students.

Carolina Gonzalez

Carolina Gonzalez, MCom, Adv.Cert (Mindfulness & Meditation), is a mindfulness and meditation teacher who has been facilitating sessions for women since 2022. Carolina holds an Advanced Certificate in Teaching and Guiding Mindfulness and Meditation with specialised training in Buddhist psychology, meditation for grief, pain, and dying, and Mental Health First Aid. Her work has been featured in Tiny Buddha and Wellbeing Magazine. She is a warm and nurturing teacher who specialises in guiding women to move beyond living in their thoughts and reconnect with their body and emotions, experiencing themselves as whole.

Carolina helps women give themselves permission to put their needs first, drop the guilt, and reclaim the parts of themselves they thought were gone. Through guided meditation, reflective exercises, and accessible mindfulness practices, she supports women to rewire conditioned patterns and access their inner wisdom. Carolina believes mindfulness should be integrated into everyday life, as it is essential for living fully, being present, and cultivating the clarity needed for intentional living.

Christine has taught French in the UK, the US and Australia at secondary and tertiary levels. She has continued to teach and train adults through her professional life (WEA and Alliance from Beginners to Advanced). She strongly believes in active participation and interactive learning. Christine is passionate about current affairs and the evolution of the French language. Christine travels to France regularly and students enjoy sharing their food and travel experiences during practice conversations. Overall Christine’s classes are relaxed and fun whilst covering language fundamentals.

Helen Gray brings a practical, engaging, and deeply human approach to teaching wellbeing, burnout prevention, and sustainable work practices. As an experienced Social Worker in high-demand and complex environments, Helen combines evidence-based knowledge with real-world experience bringing a warm, practical and down-to-earth approach to wellbeing, stress and burnout prevention. Helen uses her understanding of the pressures many people face in work and life today and drawing on lived experience of burnout and recovery as she shares complex ideas in a relatable and practical way. Her relaxed and engaging style creates welcoming learning spaces for individuals to connect, continue learning, and support their personal and professional wellbeing.

Bill Gye

Bill Gye OAM has a B.A. (Hons. Psych); M.Cog.Sci. (Cognitive Science – UNSW). He is currently the Director of Education and Training at WEA. Bill is writer on Substack, has co-authored a number or Peer Reviewed published papers on a range of topics. Bill has had a long career in senior management in the community sector and was previously the CEO of Community Mental Health Australia (CMHA).

Anne Harbers

Anne Harbers MA, MBA, MAppSc, GCLT, is an experienced presenter and writer in Art History and European Decorative Arts and has tutored at WEA for over 5 years as well as given talks to museums, antiques study groups and art history conferences in USA and Europe. She lives part-time in The Netherlands whilst working on her PhD on the 17th century Dutch still-life painter Abraham van Beyeren. Her current art history research interests lie in European art and Decorative Arts from the 17th to 19th centuries. She has published on art and collecting, contributing to over 5 books. Anne likes to teach in a collaborative way, presenting current exhibitions in Europe & Britain and hopes to encourage participant learning through informing but also exploring ideas.

Christelle Hart

Christelle grew up in France. She holds a Master in Applied Languages from the University of Angers and a BTS in translation and interpreting. She has been teaching French for over 25 years to children, young adults and adults from different backgrounds and with various objectives. She speaks English, Spanish and is currently learning Italian. She understands the challenges of gaining confidence and progressing in a language. Whether you are learning for fun, travel, studies, family or work, she will help you reach your goals in a motivating, friendly and interactive classroom environment.
