...Continue developing your beginner Italian fluency and confidence with our Beginner Italian: A1.4 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Italian: A1.3 Course or have approximately 60 hours of prior study. This course helps you expand your ability to communicate in everyday situations while strengthening your understanding of essential Italian grammar and vocabulary. It is ideal for learners interested in learning Italian for cultural interest or personal enrichment in a supportive and interactive learning environment.
You will practise everyday communication such as describing a place, enquiring for information and replying, describing an itinerary, directing someone to other people, talking about opening and closing times, discussing past events, and talking about holidays and the weather. Grammar and vocabulary are taught in context through these topics and include structures such as ci + andare, adjectives and nouns agreement, adjectives ending in -co/-go, partitive in the plural, verbs dovere, potere, volere, molto as adjective or adverb, c'è un …? / dov'è il …?, interrogatives quando and quale, passato prossimo (regular and irregular), double negatives, and superlative absolute, alongside useful vocabulary related to location details, timetables, and weather forecasts. Phonetics is integrated throughout the course, focusing on key Italian sounds such as sc and sch and double consonants to help you develop clear and confident spoken Italian.
