Continue developing your beginner Italian fluency and confidence with our Beginner Italian: A1.4 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Italian: A1.3 Course or have approximately 60 hours of prior study. This course helps you build stronger communication skills for everyday situations while expanding your understanding of Italian grammar and vocabulary. It is ideal for learners interested in learning Italian for cultural interest or personal enrichment in a supportive and interactive learning environment.

You will practise communication in situations such as describing locations, asking for and giving information, explaining itineraries, and discussing holidays and weather. Grammar is introduced naturally in context, including modal verbs, past tense forms, adjective agreement, and common question structures. Vocabulary and pronunciation are integrated throughout, covering travel, time, and everyday interactions, along with key sound patterns.

  • Describing an itinerary; directing someone to other people
  • Talking about opening and closing times
  • Talking about past events; talking about holidays and the weather

Grammar

  • Structures: ci + andare; c’è un…? / dov’è il…?
  • Agreement: adjectives and nouns; adjectives ending in -co / -go
  • Articles and quantity: partitive in the plural; tutto il / tutti i
  • Verb forms: dovere, potere, volere; passato prossimo (regular and irregular past participles)
  • Modifiers: molto (adjective or adverb)
  • Interrogatives: quando, quale
  • Negation: double negative
  • Forms: superlative absolute
