Continue developing your beginner Italian fluency and confidence with our Beginner Italian: A1.2 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Italian: A1.1 Course or have approximately 20 hours of prior study. This course helps you strengthen your communication skills for everyday situations while deepening your understanding of Italian grammar and vocabulary, making it ideal for learners wanting to learn the Italian language for travel, work, or personal enrichment in a supportive, interactive learning environment.

You will learn to order food and drinks, book a table, make polite requests, talk about your free time, express preferences, and ask for or tell the time. Grammar and vocabulary are taught in context, including plural nouns, prepositions (a, in, con), interrogatives, adverbs of frequency, and key verbs such as volere, preferire, andare, uscire, giocare, and leggere. Phonetics is integrated throughout, with practice in Italian intonation, the pronunciation of c and g, and double consonants (f, l, m, n, s, v) to develop clear and confident speech in Italian.

  • Getting someone's attention and spelling your name
  • Talking about free time - How often you do something
  • Talking about tastes and preferences
  • Expressing agreement and disagreement
  • Asking and telling the time - Days of the week

Grammar

  • Definite articles - Plural nouns
  • Bene/buono - Prepositions a, in, con
  • Interrogatives: (che) cosa, quale, quanto, quanti, perché
  • Verbs ending in -ere and -ire: volere, preferire, andare, giocare, leggere, uscire
  • Adverbs of frequency: di solito, spesso, sempre, qualche volta, non ... mai
  • Mi piace/Mi piacciono with singular Indirect Object Pronouns

Phonetics

  • Affirmative and interrogative Intonation
  • Sounds: c, g
  • Double consonants: f, l, m, n, s, v

Vocabulary

  • Leisure activities - Asking for the time
  • Food and drinks in a bar/restaurant

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:
