France produces some of the world’s most celebrated red wines, and this course invites you to explore them in depth. Focusing on Bordeaux, Burgundy, and the Northern and Southern Rhône, you’ll taste and compare wines made from classic grape varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, gamay, grenache, syrah, and more.

Through guided tastings, we’ll examine renowned regions including Margaux and Saint-Émilion, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Hermitage, Chambertin and Beaujolais. Along the way, you’ll build a clear understanding of what defines “Bordeaux,” “Burgundy,” and “Rhône”, not just as places, but as distinct wine identities shaped by history, geography, and tradition.

You’ll confidently recognise key styles, understand regional differences, and refine your palate, all while discovering which French reds truly stand out to you.
