J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851) and John Constable (1776-1837) were both leading British landscape artists, yet they were “Fire and Water”, in their art and lives. Turner was dramatic and bombastic and fiery, provoking powerful emotions. Constable was more contemplative and heartfelt, inviting a personal experience. Tate Britain, in London is holding an exhibition from 27 November 2025 – 12 April 2026 to celebrate the 250th anniversaries of both Turner & Constable.
