Bathurst Street Construction Work

Bathurst St is changing with a large development program timed to start at 60 Bathurst St, next door to WEA Sydney (corner of Bathurst and Sussex Sts). This site is part of the City of Sydney’s planned gateway to the redesigned Darling Harbour. While WEA may suffer some inconvenience during the development process, the end result will be a fresh, modern and revitalised Bathurst St.

WEA Picnic Day to Bondi Beach

Photo of Tutor Janine Kitson, Andrew Allen, Ruth Toop and Jennifer Kearns enjoying their picnic excursion to Bondi Beach following their study of Henry Gold’s photography at the WEA College on Thursday 14 June, 2018.

Tutor Janine Kitson organised a free excursion to Bondi where her class met Henry Gold OAM, one of Australia’s leading landscape photographers. There at Bondi Pavilion they viewed his stunningly beautiful photographs showcasing the Greater Blue Mountains, Kakadu, the NSW rainforests, the Snowy Mojntains and Central Australia.

The photography exhibition celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Colong Foundation for Wilderness, that is Australia’s longest serving community advocate for wilderness. On this beautiful sunny winter’s day at Bondi Beach they were able to see in the distant ocean whales travelling north to warmer waters. After visiting the exhibition they walked from Bondi to Bronte finishing with a delightful stop for coffee and great discussion. A great WEA picnic day was had by all!
