This course helps you build stronger communication skills for everyday situations while expanding your understanding of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. It is ideal for learners interested in learning Spanish for cultural interest or personal enrichment in a supportive and interactive learning environment.

You will practise communication in situations such as describing routines, expressing emotions, making recommendations, and narrating past events. Grammar is introduced naturally in context, including present and past tense usage, pronominal verbs, and time expressions. Vocabulary and pronunciation are integrated throughout, covering emotions, achievements, and everyday experiences, along with key sound patterns and rhythm in spoken Spanish.

Communication

  • Talking about habits; duration; difficulties; actions from beginning to end
  • Making recommendations
  • Describing feelings
  • Explaining and connecting past events

Grammar

  • Verb forms: present tense (regular and irregular); pronominal verbs; costar, sentirse
  • Past tense: preterite (form and use)
  • Time expressions: desde, desde hace; time markers for the past
  • Prepositions: desde, hasta, durante

Phonetics

  • Sound: /ɲ/ (eñe)
  • Rhythm

Vocabulary

  • Feelings and emotions (sentirse ridículo/a, seguro/a, inseguro/a, frustrado/a, bien/mal)
  • Expressions: dar vergüenza, miedo…
  • Achievements; biographies; cinema
  • Verbs and structures: ir / irse; empezar a + infinitive

LEARNING OUTCOMES
