Continue building your confidence in Spanish with our Beginner Spanish: A1.2 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Spanish: A1.1 Course or have approximately 20 hours of prior study. This course expands your ability to communicate in everyday social situations, including talking about family and friends, describing people, discussing your interests, shopping, and expressing preferences with greater confidence.
You'll develop practical communication skills while comparing people and things, asking questions, identifying everyday objects and interacting in simple shopping situations. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced naturally through meaningful communication as you extend your use of common verbs, adjectives, demonstratives and question forms to participate in increasingly natural conversations.
DELIVERY MODE
Language courses are offered in two delivery modes:
- Face-to-Face: WEA Sydney
- Online: via Zoom or Microsoft Teams

- Expressing, comparing, and asking about likes, dislikes, and interests
- Talking about personal relationships
- Identifying items; expressing needs
- Buying in shops (asking for products and prices); talking about preferences
Grammar
- Determiners: demonstratives (este, esta, estos, estas, esto)
- Nouns and adjectives: el / la / los / las + adjective
- Interrogatives: qué + noun; cuál / cuáles
- Verb structures: tener que + infinitive
- Verbs: gustar, ir, preferir
- Quantifiers: muy, bastante, un poco
- Expressions: también / tampoco
- Orthography: diacritical accents
Phonetics
- Sound: /r/ (erre)
- Intonation: questions
