This course is suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Italian: A2 Conclusion course or reached an A2 proficiency level (approximately 200 hours of Italian study). It is designed to boost grammar and broaden vocabulary through practical exercises that emphasise real-world communication. By participating in focused activities, you will strengthen your speaking abilities while reinforcing essential grammar skills and expanding your vocabulary for effective day-to-day interactions before you start the next step in your Italian learning journey with our Intermediate Italian: B1.1 Course.

DELIVERY MODE

Language courses are offered in two delivery modes:

  • Face-to-Face: WEA Sydney
  • Online: via Zoom or Microsoft Teams

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Conversation practice: everyday interactions
  • Cultural elements: engage with diverse texts through listening and/or reading
  • Fluency and accuracy practice: enhance reading or speaking by focusing on speed, expression (prosody), and accuracy
  • Grammar consolidation: practise verb tenses, including Present, Passato Prossimo, Imperfetto, and Future
  • Vocabulary: record challenging or unfamiliar words or phrases

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance, such as basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, and employment
  2. Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a straightforward exchange of information on familiar and routine matters
  3. Describe aspects of their background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need in simple terms
