This level assumes you have completed approximately 160 hours tuition and you are acquainted with the content of the text book Nuovo Espresso 2. The communicative and grammatical aspects are integrated in every lesson; conversation and oral drills are integral to the course.

TEXT: Nuovo Espresso 3 (Alma edizioni), Units 1-2. (Italian language only)

Nine Sessions that aim to build general advanced comprehension and communication skills in Italian.

Conversational Italian and an introduction to cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of higher level language principles.

  • Unit 2
    • Talking about the state of the planet, as air and water pollution, and the effects in our lives

    • Expressing surprise and disapproval
    • Asking about something’s appearance
    • Illustrate the positive and negative aspects of something
    • Define the geographical location of a place

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
  2. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
  3. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
  4. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

IMPORTANT: Textbook cost is not included in the course fee. In the event of a course being cancelled WEA cannot be held responsible for the purchase of any textbooks. We therefore suggest you purchase your textbooks closer to the time of the course commencing.

If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
