Available Classes

Hunters Hill is known for its leafy streets, harbour setting and distinctive French heritage. This course explores the suburb’s history, architecture and notable residents, revealing how geography, migration and community shaped its unique character. Through stories of buildings, gardens and everyday life, participants gain insight into one of Sydney’s most historically rich neighbourhoods. Suitable for anyone interested in local history and walking-based learning. Fairly level ground but nowhere to sit. No toilets or bubblers.

Meeting point: Hunter Shelley Memorial Playground, on the corner of Mount Street and Alexandra Street.

This walk will go ahead whatever the weather, except where the guide deems there to be a threat to health and safety. In this situation you will be contacted with an alternative date. Please ensure your mobile phone number is up-to-date with WEA before enrolling and ensure that you have it with you on the day in case the tutor needs to contact you.
