...Continue developing your beginner French fluency and confidence with our Beginner French: A2.5 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner French: A2.4 Course or have approximately 160 hours of prior study. This course helps you build stronger communication skills for everyday situations while expanding your understanding of French grammar and vocabulary. It is ideal for learners interested in learning French for cultural interest or personal enrichment in a supportive and interactive learning environment.
You will practise communication in situations such as comparing language-study trips, organising itineraries, handling administrative procedures, and describing accommodation and places. Grammar is introduced naturally in context, including comparison structures, object pronouns, negation, and expressions of obligation. Vocabulary and pronunciation are integrated throughout, covering travel, administrative contexts, and descriptive language, along with key sound patterns and intonation for emphasis and obligation.

COURSE OUTLINE
Communication
- Comparing language-study trips; organising a trip or itinerary
- Carrying out an administrative procedure; getting information about accommodation
- Describing a place; giving detailed information
Grammar
- Structures: making comparisons; expressing rules and recommendations (imperative, devoir + infinitive, il faut + infinitive, il est impératif de…)
- Pronouns: indirect pronouns y and en; direct and indirect object pronouns (COD/COI) (summary)
- Negation: ne… plus, rien, personne, jamais
- Adverbs: adverbs and adverbial expressions to describe a place
- Relative pronouns: qui, que (qu’), à qui, avec qui
Phonetics
- Sounds: /ɑ̃/, /ɛ̃/ (nasal vowels)
- Sounds: /plys/ (plus pronunciation)
- Intonation: expressing obligation
Vocabulary
- Words related to language-study trips; administrative procedures
- Words related to transport (e.g. carpooling)
- Describing accommodation; unusual places
- Places in the city; tourist activities
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Communicate effectively in French in travel and administrative contexts, including organising trips and describing places.
- Use key grammar structures such as comparison forms, object pronouns, negation, and expressions of obligation with increased accuracy.
- Apply relevant vocabulary and pronunciation patterns to give detailed information and interact confidently in practical situations.
