Continue developing your beginner French fluency and confidence with our Beginner French: A2.4 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner French: A2.3 Course or have approximately 140 hours of prior study. This course helps you communicate more confidently in social situations by sharing learning experiences, ordering food, choosing clothing, recommending films and shows, and organising events with others.
You will broaden your French vocabulary through topics including dining, clothing, entertainment and celebrations while developing your understanding of past tense usage, object pronouns, relative structures and everyday language for expressing opinions, giving advice and interacting naturally with others. Pronunciation continues to strengthen through work on common French glides and vowel sounds to support clearer spoken communication. It is ideal for learners interested in learning French for cultural interest or personal enrichment in a supportive and interactive learning environment.

- Face-to-Face: WEA Sydney
- Online: via Zoom or Microsoft Teams

Communication

Grammar
- Tense usage: imparfait, passé composé, présent (to talk about changes)
- Structures: ordering at a restaurant; expressing an opinion; giving advice
- Pronouns: direct object pronouns (le, la, les); indirect object pronouns (lui, leur)
- Relative structures: qui, que; chez, avec, pour + tonic pronouns
Phonetics
- Sounds: /j/, /ɥ/ (glides)
- Sounds: /w/ (semi-vowel)
- Sounds: /ɔ/ (vowel sound)
