Continue developing your beginner French fluency and confidence with our Beginner French: A2.4 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner French: A2.3 Course or have approximately 140 hours of prior study. This course helps you strengthen your communication skills for everyday situations while deepening your understanding of beginner French grammar and vocabulary, making it ideal for learners looking to use French for travel, work, or personal enrichment in a supportive, interactive learning environment.

You will learn to share about your experience learning French, describe a restaurant and make an order, choose and describe clothing, recommend movies or shows, and organise simple events. Grammar and vocabulary are taught in context, including the imparfait, passé composé, and présent to talk about changes over time, object pronouns (le, la, les, lui, leur), the relative pronouns qui and que, and common structures for giving opinions and advice. Phonetics is integrated throughout, with practice on mastering the sounds [j], [ɔ], [w], and [ɥ] to develop clear and confident speech in French.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

Use key grammatical structures to talk about actions and experiences, such as the imparfait, passé composé, and présent to express changes, direct and indirect object pronouns (le, la, les, lui, leur), relative pronouns qui and que, tonic pronouns after chez / avec / pour, and structures for giving opinions and advice.
  3. Improve pronunciation and expand practical vocabulary, focusing on the sounds [j], [ɔ], [w], [ɥ], and vocabulary for restaurant interactions, meals, clothes shopping, learning activities, movies and shows, and festive events.
