This Intermediate course extends your skills in the Procreate app through an engaging and imaginative course. Students will explore a variety of fresh techniques like how to use masking for controlled editing, develop colour palettes using multiple methods, and explore colour theory within Procreate’s tools. You’ll work with blend modes, liquify, cloning and special effects to enhance your imagery. The course also covers practical workflows, including saving, formatting and exporting files for different end uses such as print or digital display. Ideal for artists and designers ready to move beyond the basics, this course builds confidence, efficiency and creative flexibility. Colour
- Introduction to the Colour palettes and the ways you can create your own palette the colour panel or from a photograph
- Different ways to recolour artwork via the colour panel
- Creating a gesture shortcut
- Adding colour interest through Transparency
- Adjusting colour with the Magic Wand
·Editing existing artwork and applying special effects
- Masking to create clean edges via Selection Tool, Alpha Lock, Clipping Masks and Layers Masks
- Applying different effects to your artwork via the Adjustments menu and selection cursor
- Understand different ways to be creative with the tools
- Saving work in a format for printing.
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Use a range of selection and masking tools to be able to draw or paint inside shapes for greater control and creativity using graphic design methods.
- To colour their artwork with more colour generation tools for specific purposes and make their own colour palettes or creating them directly from photographs.
- Recolour existing artwork using a variety of methods.
- Apply special effects to their artwork such as blurs, visual special effects to allow more creativity.
- Use the app to clone areas of an artwork or photograph.
- Understand how to save and share work in formats for specific end uses.
Please be advised that students will need to bring their own iPad (including charger) and Apple Pencil that they know how to use as well as purchasing and downloading the Procreate app (the cost of Procreate is not included in the course fee).
