The Throckmortons were a powerful Catholic family navigating the dangers of Tudor England. This course explores their rise from minor gentry to the heart of political intrigue, and the risks they faced during the Reformation. We examine loyalty, faith and survival in a period when religious identity could mean imprisonment or death, offering insight into how large historical forces played out within one remarkable family.
