The Baroque period produced some of Europe’s most dramatic art, music and architecture. This course explores the Baroque world from Bernini to Rubens, examining how movement, emotion and spectacle were used to express power, faith and creativity. We consider both Catholic and Protestant contexts, tracing how Baroque style spread across Europe and left a lasting cultural legacy.
