Complete your beginner Spanish studies with our Beginner Spanish: A2 Conclusion course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Spanish: A2.4 Course or have approximately 160 hours of prior study. This course prepares you for intermediate study by developing your ability to tell stories, discuss past experiences, express opinions and compare situations with increasing fluency and confidence.

You'll communicate about historical events, customs, memories and personal experiences while expanding vocabulary related to society, culture and everyday life. Grammar is introduced naturally through communication as you strengthen your control of the imperfect tense, contrasts between past tenses and narrative structures used in extended conversation.

• Face-to-Face: WEA Sydney
• Online: via Zoom or Microsoft Teams

Communication

• Talking about habits, customs, and circumstances in the past
• Placing actions in the past and present
• Arguing and debating; telling stories from the past
• Sequencing actions; expressing emotions

Grammar

• Past tense: imperfect
• Time expressions: ya no / todavía; time markers (past and present)
• Verb forms: irregular preterite
• Tense contrast: preterite vs imperfect
• Past continuous: estar + gerund (past forms)

Phonetics

• Intonation: time markers
• Sounds: /t/, /d/ (contrast)

Vocabulary

• Historical periods: history and society; stages of life
• Historical events; memories; emotions

LEARNING OUTCOMES
