Continue strengthening your everyday Spanish communication with our Beginner Spanish: A2.2 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Spanish: A2.1 Course or have approximately 100 hours of prior study. This course develops your ability to describe people and places in greater detail, compare similarities and differences, discuss relationships and confidently talk about homes and everyday surroundings.
You'll practise expressing preferences, describing objects and locating people and things while expanding vocabulary for family relationships, housing and everyday life. Grammar is developed naturally through communication, introducing comparative structures, possessive forms, location language and more precise ways of describing people and places.
DELIVERY MODE
Language courses are offered in two delivery modes:
- Face-to-Face: WEA Sydney
- Online: via Zoom or Microsoft Teams

COURSE OUTLINE
Communication
- Identifying and describing people physically
- Talking about relationships and similarities between people
- Expressing likes and preferences; describing a house
- Comparing and expressing coincidence
- Locating objects in a space; describing objects
Grammar
- Verb forms: irregular present (c > zc); verbs gustar, encantar, preferir
- Determiners and structures: este, ese, aquel; el / la / los / las + que + verb
- Structures: expressing relationships (llevarse bien/mal con, caer bien/mal)
- Comparison: comparatives
- Prepositions and adverbs: location
- Pronouns: possessive pronouns (el mío, la mía)
- Verb usage: ser and estar
Phonetics
- Sounds: /b/, /d/, /g/ (soft pronunciation)
- Consonant groups
Vocabulary
- Adjectives for physical descriptions; relationships with a partner
- Verbs: ser, tener, llevar; parecerse
- Types of housing; parts of a house
- Adjectives to describe a home; shapes; styles; materials
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
