Continue developing your beginner Russian fluency and confidence with our Beginner Russian: A1.2 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Russian: A1.1 Course or have approximately 20 hours of prior study. You will learn to ask for information about timetables, talk about your studies and weekend activities, discuss your likes and dislikes, and describe your home and apartment.

You will develop your Russian grammar through useful everyday structures, including the accusative and nominative plural forms, possessives, the past tense and basic ways of expressing possession and destinations. Alongside this, you will build vocabulary for schedules, education, leisure and home life while strengthening your pronunciation of key Russian sounds, including voiced and voiceless consonants and the hushing sounds Ж, Ш, Ч and Щ.

• Using the singular accusative case with nouns and adjectives
• Using the singular accusative case with days of the week
• Using the plural accusative case with inanimate nouns and adjectives
• Using the nominative plural with nouns and adjectives
• Using possessive forms
• Using the demonstrative этот (this)
• Conjugating common verbs including читать (to read), делать (to do), слушать (to listen), писать (to write), любить (to love), ходить (to walk) and смотреть (to watch)
• Using the past tense of verbs
• Expressing possession using у + genitive forms of personal pronouns
• Answering the question Куда? (Where to?)

Phonetics

• Pronouncing е correctly in syllables before stress
• Distinguishing voiced and voiceless consonants
• Pronouncing the hushing consonants Ж, Ш, Ч, Щ
