Carnival, a hedonistic, fun-filled celebration of the pleasures of life, has given rise to some very original, striking music and art. Lent, which follows, is a 40-day season of reflection and enlightenment. It has inspired equally striking, though very different art works. Come enjoy these marked contrasts which will be explored through music ranging from the Renaissance to today, by such composers as Byrd, Orlando di Lasso, Lotti, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Schumann, Berlioz, Rossini, Dvořák, Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Elgar, Stravinsky, Ravel, and Poulenc. The music will be complemented by appropriate art works depicting these contrasting seasons and will include video performances.

DELIVERY MODE
