This series of courses offers advanced learners the opportunity to further develop both linguistic and sociocultural competence through the study of some of the most representative Italian authors from the 13th century onwards.The first series will focus on the 13th and 14th centuries, examining authors who wrote in the Tuscan vernacular of their time — the dialect that later became the foundation of standard Italian. The reading and analysis of selected literary texts will be complemented by an exploration of their historical and cultural context, as well as the social, political and religious factors that shaped these works.The course is designed to foster active participation, encouraging meaningful interaction among participants and the exchange of ideas and perspectives.
