Practice and develop your Indonesian skills in this warm and welcoming intermediate to advanced class designed to cater for a range of language skills and abilities. This course provides an opportunity to revisit familiar language, strengthen communication skills and develop greater confidence expressing ideas in everyday, social and cultural situations. Through engaging communication activities, students practise using grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation skills in context while developing greater fluency and flexibility when communicating.

COURSE OUTLINE

• Participate in conversations and activities that encourage more confident use of intermediate language skills
• Practise expressing ideas, opinions and experiences with greater detail
• Build confidence discussing familiar topics, experiences, opinions and everyday situations
• Develop an understanding of colloquial language and practice using it
• Extend vocabulary and general knowledge by focusing on topics relevant to the Australian-Indonesian relationship and current affairs and issues in Indonesia
• Revisit and practise key grammatical structures and language patterns such as use of the passive voice (object focus phrases and sentences), use of conjunctions, and forming and using abstract nouns in more advanced and formal language
• Develop listening skills by engaging with authentic Indonesian-language audio materials and completing related multiple-choice activities, summaries, and engaging in discussions

3. Understand and be able to discuss a broader range of topics and issues
