Why do smart pilots make fatal mistakes? Flying is one of the safest ways to travel, yet when things go wrong, the results can be catastrophic — and strangely compelling. In this fascinating course, Captain Bob Binning takes you inside the cockpit and the human mind to explore how stress, perception, and split-second judgment can turn routine flights into tragedy. Through real accident analyses, you’ll discover what happens when the brain — not the plane — fails.

DELIVERY MODE

  • Face-to-Face

COURSE OUTLINE

Rare and common brain misinterpretations will be demonstrated graphically by Power Point to students. The knowledge gained will then be used to follow the train of events that have led to the most serious accidents. This phase will also use Power Point delivery to graphically trace the developing conditions to the accident stage.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Understanding of, and how some of these apply to accidents:
  2. The sub-conscious and conscious mind.
  3. Mental performance and stress.
  4. True meaning of "mind set".
  5. False Hypotheses.
  6. Confirmation Bias.
