Ancient History Courses
Journey back to the Pyramid Age and discover the rulers, monuments, religion and achievements that established Ancient Egypt's first great civilisation.

Continue your exploration of Ancient Egypt with the Old Kingdom (c. 2700–2200 BCE), the era that gave rise to the great pyramids and laid the foundations of Egyptian civilisation. This course explores famous rulers including Khufu and Teti, while examining the development of religion, government, art and writing that underpinned Egypt's first unified state. Through archaeological discoveries, monuments and private tombs, participants will gain a vivid understanding of everyday life and the beliefs of this extraordinary period.

This course continues from "Earliest Egypt: Before the Pharaohs", but it is not necessary to have taken that class to join this one. No previous knowledge is required. Ideal for beginners and anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of Ancient Egyptian history.
