Available Classes

This course is a continuation of the Introduction to Design Fundamentals: Creating Patterns course, where students transition from manual design to digital illustration and composition. Participants will learn how to translate their hand-drawn motifs and design patterns into professional digital outcomes using Photoshop or Procreate. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of software tools, focusing on how to build visual compositions through digital brushes, layers, colour palettes, and image tracing. By engaging with their previous design ideas and sketch-based motifs, learners will explore advanced methods to digitally enhance and compose original surface designs ready for commercial or personal use. This course is ideal for creatives looking to bridge traditional methods with digital tools and enter the growing field of digital illustration and surface design.

Students must bring either an iPad (with Procreate installed and an Apple Pencil) or a laptop (with Adobe Photoshop CS6 or higher and a Drawing tablet - Wacom or similar brand is recommended), along with the charger for this course.
