The revolution wasn’t just about music and fashion. The class system, racial relations, feminism and LGBT issues were all part of the story. Come and join us for a night of great music, epic stories and a travelogue of four awesome cities. With a soundtrack provided by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Jam, The Specials, The Sex Pistols, Oasis and lots more.

  • The impact of popular culture on racial relations, feminism and LGBT issues.
  • A tour of the music and fashion related historical sites in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool.

LEARNING OUTLINE

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Have an understanding of the impact of popular culture on significant social issues in the UK in the latter half of the 20th century.
  2. Track down many significant music related sites in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.
