This course aims to improve communication skills for everyday use at intermediate level. Students will practise speaking and listening skills through simple conversations, role plays, discussions, presentations and other communicative activities. They will expand or refresh vocabulary and sentence structures to gain more fluency in everyday situations. The course is designed for intermediate students who have completed or have almost completed Nuovo Espresso Book 2 or approximately 150 hours of Italian. However, the course may be useful also for students at higher levels who would like to revise and consolidate elementary conversational skills.

COURSE OUTLINE

The course is designed to get students talking about a variety of topics and in a range of everyday situations. Relevant vocabulary and sentence structures will be introduced and practised through role plays, discussions, games, presentations and activities aimed to promote fluency.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

1. Communicate in everyday situations;
2. Express their opinions;
3. Describe places, people, situations and feelings;
4. Revise and improve vocabulary and pronunciation;
5. Improve their comprehension and listening skills.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY

If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
