This course explores dolphin-assisted therapeutic experiences in the natural environment of wild dolphins rather than captivity. You’ll examine ideas around dolphin cognition, human–dolphin encounters and the possible benefits associated with ocean-based, mindful observation.

Drawing on perspectives from marine biology, environmental psychology, ocean conservation and therapeutic practice, the course also considers how immersion in marine environments may support calm, focus and ecological awareness. It offers an interdisciplinary introduction to a field that sits at the intersection of wellbeing and the natural world.
