These sessions will introduce and explore the three Baltic states — Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The history, geography, politics and economy will all be briefly covered, but there will be an emphasis on the tourism perspective. Many maps, photographs and other illustrative material will be used.

- A tourist’s introduction to each nation
- The history and geography of each nation
- The nature of each nation’s people and culture
- World Heritage sites and other places of significance
- Flora, fauna and famous citizens
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Appreciate the nature of each of the nations.
- Contemplate a visit to the Baltic states.
- Be aware of the place of each nation in Europe and in the greater world.
