Colour and Collage Studio for Beginners

Collage has laid the groundwork for our cut and paste digital present day and remains popular as an active engagement visual medium across all age groups and cultures. This is a creative and engaging course with hands on activities that will develop an open-minded and liberating approach to colour and collage in art and design. A history of Collage is investigated in this course by visiting major global museum collections virtually and referencing artworks of significance.

The course begins with a basic exploration of visual language, with each successive term building on that knowledge gained progressively throughout the year. There is also flexibility within this structure so that students may join at any time of the year. Classes begin with presented ideas, continue with art making by hand, and conclude with critique, reflection and discussion.
