David Wilson is a retired ADF officer with 47 years of service and a lifelong interest in all periods of military history, including their associated weaponry and tactics. His main area of expertise is WW1 and the Anzac campaigns at Gallipoli and the Western Front where he has been a battlefield guide and historian since 2006. He is the author of the regimental history of the 19th Battalion, AIF. David is one of only two fully accredited Australian members of the Guild of Battlefield Guides, an international guiding organisation based in the UK. He is also the Principal of AIF Research Services, a facility which specialises in the interpretation of WW1 service records for family research. David is often called upon to lecture on a range of military history topics to various local community organisations and historical societies.
