Denise Weelands, BA, LLB, LLM taught in welfare, social work , criminology and policing courses at Western Sydney University for 20 years. Her practice is to provide a short overview of the subject, where appropriate, followed by a learning environment where students have time to actively engage in questioning and discussion, and can be enabled to follow up their interests in the topic. Denise has worked and volunteered in the community legal sector. She has presented on imprisonment at the University of the Third Age and has taught in the Primary Ethics program in NSW She has had an interest in social justice for many years.
