In this follow on from 'Intro to Social Media 1', we’ll go through the process for setting up profiles in Facebook, Google and Twitter. When it’s done, you’ll have set up accounts in each of these social media services. We’ll also talk you through the issue of protecting your privacy while using these services.
In this workshop you’ll learn how to:
- Google account – set up of account
- Facebook – set up profile and explore
- Twitter – set up profile and explore
- Privacy
What to bring:
- Your fully charged iPad, tablet or smartphone, and its charger
- An email address; either the Gmail account created in the 'Introduction to Email Part 1' workshop, or another email account.
- Ideally, you will have a saved photo for uploading to Facebook and Twitter.
- Notepad and pen
To attend this workshop you must have at least basic skills on the device you will be bringing to the class.
Courses will be held at WEA House, with no more than 10 participants per class.
The Tech Savvy Seniors program is for seniors aged 60 years and above, and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander elders aged 50 years and above in NSW who:
- Have little or no experience in using technologies
- Require additional skills and confidence to use and adapt to new technologies
This program (held in partnership with the NSW Government and Telstra) delivers government-funded digital literacy training to seniors so they can develop the skills and confidence to access information and services online, or connect with family and friends.
