Available Classes
If you have a working knowledge of email, this is a good workshop for exploring its more advanced features. If you have attended the Introduction to Email Part 1 and 2 workshops (or have the equivalent knowledge), this session completes the course and equips you to use all email’s most important features.
In this intermediate workshop you’ll learn how to:
- use attachments (which let you add a file, photo or video to an email)
- organise your emails into folders
- avoid junk email (known as spam)
Prerequisite: attendance at Email – parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent knowledge)
What to bring:
- Your fully charged iPad, tablet or smartphone, and its charger
- An email account; either the Gmail account set up in the Introduction to Email Part 1 workshop, or another existing email account.
- Ideally, you will also have some emails in your Inbox, and a saved photo or file on your computer to send as an attachment.
- Notepad and pen
To attend this workshop you must have at least basic skills on the device you will be bringing to the class.
Courses will be held at WEA House, with no more than 10 participants per class.
The Tech Savvy Seniors program is for seniors aged 60 years and above, and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander elders aged 50 years and above in NSW who:
- Have little or no experience in using technologies
- Require additional skills and confidence to use and adapt to new technologies
This program (held in partnership with the NSW Government and Telstra) delivers government-funded digital literacy training to seniors so they can develop the skills and confidence to access information and services online, or connect with family and friends.
