Phones used to be all about making calls, but now your mobile can do so much more. The range of new touchscreen smartphones allows you to access the internet, use social media, get live news updates, play music and video, and much more. Please note you must bring your own fully charged device, charger, a notepad and pen.

The Tech Savvy Seniors program (held in partnership with the NSW Government and Telstra) delivers government-funded digital literacy training to seniors (aged 60 years and above) and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander elders (aged 50 years and above) who have little or no experience in using technologies or require additional skills and confidence to use and adapt to new technologies, so they can develop the skills and confidence to access information and services online, or connect with family and friends.

  • An introduction to apps

Please note: When you first setup your Smartphone, you would have been asked to provide an email address and a password. This email address is your Google ID (for Android smartphones) or your Apple ID (for iPhone) and is required to install Apps. Please bring your Google ID or Apple ID and password to the class. If you don’t know or don't have these details, please ask the person who helped you set up your Smartphone. Without your Google or Apple ID and password, you will not be able to install any Apps.
