The Short Story: A Workshop for Creative Writing
Most avid readers have a story of their own to tell but it is often difficult to put pen to paper. The right words tend to escape and the eager writer is left frustrated with a blank page and an untold story. The pandemic has helped little to alleviate this, with creatives in a variety of professions complaining of feeling uninspired. Nonetheless, there are a number of tools and techniques available to beat writer’s block and to bring life to a short story of 500 words or less (the word count for some of the adult writing competitions in Australia).
