Portuguese Conversation & Grammar 4 (B2)

A continuation course for student who wish to communicate with fluency in Portuguese. It is also designed for people working in the local tourist industry who need to communicate at an advanced level with Portuguese clients. Students will have the opportunity to focus on specific skills, such as extending vocabulary in given areas, improving written language, and developing a better understanding of specific cultural and social issues relevant to the tourist industry. The course uses group discussions and individual presentations by the students on various topics (culture, society, environment etc.) to build on the competencies achieved in previous levels. This course will allow you to practise and improve your speaking and listening skills in Portuguese through a wide variety of activities. This is an advanced course which focuses on fluency and conversation.

CLASS PLAN

Nine Sessions that aim to build general basic comprehension and communication skills in elementary Portuguese.


CONTENT

Conversational Portuguese and an introduction to cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of basic language principles.


PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Communicate in fluent Portuguese, in particular to give assistance , direction and instructions to Portuguese tourists.
  2. Exhibit the skills, vocabulary and study attitude required for continued study of Portuguese at the advanced level.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY

If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
