The course assumes you have completed approximately 190 hours tuition in Portuguese. It is for students who need to communicate with some fluency in Portuguese. Students will have the opportunity to focus on specific skills, such as extending vocabulary in given areas, improving written language. Most of the class is conducted in Portuguese; conversation is the focal point of the first part of the lesson while the second part introduces new areas of grammar and vocabulary.

CLASS PLAN

Nine Sessions that aim to build higher level comprehension and communication skills in intermediate Portuguese.

CONTENT

Conversational Portuguese and a review of cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of higher level language principles.

PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

1. Communicate in easily understood Portuguese, in particular to give assistance, direction and instructions to Portuguese tourists.
2. Increase the skills, vocabulary and study attitude required for continued study of Portuguese.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY

If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
