This course is for any student looking to practise their beginner Modern Arabic to use in conversation. Conversational Arabic and an introduction to cultural practices and taboos, together with a focus on clear explanations of basic language principles of the modern language, and some differences between Arabic dialects will be taught along with numbers, letters and their corresponding symbols in English.

  • Conversational Arabic focus on clear explanations of basic language principles
  • Arabic alphabet and Pronunciation of Arabic alphabet
  • Introducing oneself, getting to know others and social conversation
  • Identifying a language; Communicating in the classroom
  • Daily conversation, the differences between dialects
  • Correcting pronunciation

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Improve their punctuation to be understood in basic Arabic
  2. Use well-rehearsed phrases to talk about themselves and exchange basics with others.
  3. Demonstrate the skills, language and attitudes required for further study of Arabic.
