This welcoming ceramics course combines creative skill-building with relaxation and wellbeing. Using clay as both a medium and a mindful practice, participants explore hand-building techniques in a supportive environment.
You’ll learn methods such as pinch, coil and slab construction while creating both functional and expressive pieces. Alongside technique, the course encourages sensory awareness, creativity and connection.
Working with clay can support relaxation, focus and emotional expression, making each session both productive and restorative. Suitable for all experience levels.

COURSE OUTLINE
- Foundational hand‑building ceramics techniques including pinch, coil, slab, mold forming, sculpting, and surface texture
- Creating both functional and expressive works such as vessels, sculptural forms, and bonsai containers
- Supports sensory awareness, fine motor skills, and creative problem‑solving through hands‑on, mindful making
- Students explore non‑verbal emotional expression, cultural forms and storytelling, and develop confidence, calm, and connection within a supportive studio community

COURSE RESOURCES
Students can purchase Clay in Class - A basic White or Brown Clay will be supplied to each student approximate 3.50 Per Kilo.
Students are encouraged to buy a small clay tool kit online. Basic kits are around $15.
Firing charges will be on top of clay purchases ($20 Dollars Per Kilo). Includes a Bisque Firing and a Glaze Firing.
Tools are provided. An apron is recommended. Work will be fired to a cone 6. Glazed either clear or limited to Green / Blue Glaze.
