Marco Migotto was born in Australia to Italian parents and studied at the University of Sydney. He has been teaching Italian for over ten years, at the WEA, the Dante Alighieri Society, TAFE and the Italian Institute for Culture. He also currently works as a translator. In 1999 he was the Ministry for the Arts Max Kelly Scholar, with a project to study examples of waterfront conservation and reuse in Venice. During his five-year period in Venice he led specialised tours on Venetian architecture and researched the decoration of 16th and 17th century palace facades. He regularly travels to Italy.
