Geoffrey Samuel, a (semi-)retired anthropologist, has worked in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. He has written several books, including Civilized Shamans (1993), The Origins of Yoga and Tantra (2008) and Introducing Tibetan Buddhism (2012), and recently translated Pablo Servigne’s Another End of the World is Possible. His interests include Buddhist health and medical practices, the dialogue between Asian thought and modern science, and the future of life on earth.
