Emilie Kolb
Resume
Emilie gained her Arts degree at the University of Vienna where she studied German, Philosophy, Psychology and Education. She has extensive experience in teaching the German language: she has been a tutor, lecturer and course coordinator in German Studies at all the major public universities in Sydney; a tutor at the Goethe Institute (Sydney); a tutor and examiner for University access exams and a tutor in German to diplomats and company employees preparing for overseas assignments. As well, she was in charge of developing skills-specific courses in German for the metals, electricity, and wood industries and is the co-author of teaching materials on teaching German as foreign language.
Emilie is an experienced researcher. She was a research asistant for several books on the German-Australian connection by John Williams, and has worked in the German archives, exploring the family history of an Australian descendent of 19th century German immigrants.
In the course of her research work, Emilie have been involved in much German-to-English translation and she has also worked independently of this as a translator.
