Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions by current and prospective students. If there is a question that is not covered by the below, please contact us.

How do I enrol into a course?

You can enrol into a course or event by viewing our Courses or Events pages. Anyone 18 years old and above can enrol into our courses, there are no special qualifications or knowledge required for any course unless specified in the course description and there are no exams. I'm unable to enrol online, what are my options?

If you are unable to enrol on our website, please contact us by phone or by email. If you are enrolling by phone, we ask that you have your credit card (and concession card if applicable) details ready. WEA Sydney accepts all major credit cards (Amex/MasterCard/Visa).

What concessions or discounts are available?

Concessions and discounts where applicable are listed in our course catalogue and on the website. Discounted fees (including concession rates) are calculated from the full fee of the course or event you are enrolling into. If you are eligible for a concession fee, you cannot combine additional discounts on top of your concession rate. For more information, visit our Concessions & Discounts page.

What are the term dates for your courses?

Our courses and events are split into 4 terms - Summer (January to April), Autumn (April to June), Winter (June to September), Spring (September to December). For more information, visit our Term Dates & Holidays page.

What are my rights and responsibilities as a student?

WEA Sydney supports a standard of behaviour based on mutual respect for other people, their property and belief systems. No student has the right to disrupt the learning of another student. WEA Sydney reserves the right to exclude any course participant if it is deemed that the learning environment has been compromised. For more information you can refer to the Student Handbook.

I've enrolled into the wrong course / I'm not able to attend because I'm unwell / I would like a refund, what do I do?

Please contact WEA Sydney and we will go through your options available. Our refund policy entitles you to a full refund if the class is not due to start in the next 21 days, or if you have a medical certificate. For more information, visit our Enrolment Terms and Conditions page.

I'd like to come along to a session of the course before I enrol, is this an option?

No, all students must enrol into the course or event before attending.

What services are available to students with disabilities?

WEA Sydney recognises the need to guarantee that services are accessible to students with disabilities and has an accessible toilet located on the ground floor, lift access for mobility-disadvantaged students at the front entrance and two classrooms are also equipped with a hearing loop that transmits audio data. We also have a parking spot with direct access from the street level which can be booked by students with disabilities.

If you have any special needs in any of these areas that will require assistance, please tell us when you enrol by phone/person or fill out the relevant section on the online enrolment form. Relevant tutors are advised if a student with specific needs has enrolled into a class.

What plans have been put in place at WEA Sydney in relation to COVID-19?

WEA Sydney follows all NSW Government requirements in relation to curbing the spread of COVID-19 in accordance with our COVID-19 Safety Plan that has been registered with the NSW Government. Our classes take place strictly under all relevant and current government COVID-19 safety procedures, including:

  • Mandatory QR check-in upon entry into WEA House
  • Mandatory mask wearing at all times within WEA House
  • Compliance with the set standards of social distancing
  • Hand sanitation spots available throughout the building

A decision on whether needing to present proof of a COVID vaccination status as a requirement for entering WEA Sydney's premises will await government advice.

I have a Zoom class, what do I do?

You will need the Zoom Client for Meetings downloaded to your computer, or the Zoom app downloaded to your phone or tablet from the relevant App Store on your device prior to your class starting (Note: a Zoom account is not needed).

An email with the details to access the meeting will be sent by WEA Sydney at 7:00pm the night before the class starts. If you don't see the email in your inbox, check your spam/junk mail in case it accidentally went into there. If you do not have an email from WEA Sydney with your class details at all, please contact us and we will send them out to you.

In order to join the zoom meeting, all you need to do is click on the Join the Meeting link in the email or press Join Meeting on the zoom app and insert the Meeting ID, your name and Passcode in the boxes provided. If you are unsure if your device works, Zoom have a test meeting you can use to check if everything is working.

Please be advised that WEA Sydney can only provide limited technical support (such as re-sending meeting details), as students are expected to know the basics of how their device works and how to download and use apps on their device.
