Holding more than 13,000 volumes, WEA Sydney’s lending library caters for the needs of all students, over the range of WEA courses and beyond.

Foreign language tapes are available for short-term loan, and other books and journals may be borrowed for two weeks.

Library Hours

Monday 12pm to 5pm (Please note: this is for only the month of June, normal hours will resume from 1 July)
Tuesday to Thursday: 10am to 6pm
Friday: 10am to 2pm
Weekends & Public Holidays: Closed

On enrolment into any WEA course, membership is free. WEA Members also immediately become members of WEA Sydney’s Library, with full lending rights. This also includes the ability to borrow for free from the library of the Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts, 280 Pitt St, Sydney. The services of the WEA Sydney Library include photocopy facilities, and cheap and easy internet access, in addition to borrowing rights to its books, periodicals and CDs.

Our Library is run by dedicated volunteers, times available are 10am – 2pm and 2pm to 6pm. If you would like to volunteer yourself please call us on (02) 9264 2781 or email us at info@weasydney@nsw.edu.au.

A computerised library archive was implemented in 2000 to give students instant information on availability of resources, along with speedier check-in and check-out facilities. A website catalogue now gives access to the collection from any web-enabled computer.
