White-throated Needletails should be seen high up on the route for this day course, always an exciting bird indicating that summer is at it’s height. More looking up for Dollarbirds on the wires, and then some lovely walks hoping to encounter fruiting palms with Topknot Pigeons and Black-faced Monarchs dancing in the shadows. A riot of birdwatching to be seen, refining your skills and tips on making birding easy with your tour guide Christina Port.


Meeting Location: Paddy Pallins (507 Kent St, around the corner from WEA House) - Please arrive 15 minutes early to enable us to leave on time. If for any reason you are running late please phone us on the mobile: 0403 875 416.


Students need to bring their own lunch, tea and coffee is provided at morning tea and with lunch, binoculars, bird book if you have one, hat, sunscreen, drink bottle, raincoat, pen, and wear comfortable walking shoes.

ABOUT YOUR TOUR GUIDE
In recent years Christina Port has become a passionate bird observer and photographer. Most days she is out exploring her local area learning about the relationships between birds and their habitats and food sources. Her enthusiasm in finding the birds has honed her skills as a tutor. She has a good ear, which is invaluable in understanding of the habitats birds prefer. She has also been involved in the threatened Little Tern breeding program as a monitor.
