What is a Sonata?

A sonata is a piece for only one or two instruments: and for that reason, is one of the most intimate and personal forms of classical music. The contrasting movements provide wonderful variety of mood and expression. Join as as we explore how this wonderful genre works, and sample the sonatas as of such great composers as Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and Brahms. No musical knowledge is necessary.

This class will be delivered face-to-face at WEA Sydney. Enrolling students need to ensure they have read the current COVID-19 Safety Guidance that WEA Sydney has put in place before enrolling.
