Introduction to Windows 10

If you have now idea on how to get around Windows 10, then this is the course for you. It covers basic skills and knowledge in understanding essential concepts the Windows 10 environment. This course for those keen to learn how to operate the software to perform tasks that include starting applications, creating folders, copying and moving files, performing searches, and personalising Windows.

Upon the completion of this training, students will be able to:

  1. Work with the basic components of the Windows 10 interface
  2. Personalise the user interface
  3. Learn how to use the Get Started app and Cortana
  4. Work with desktop program and app windows
  5. Use Windows to uninstall programs
  6. Understand data storage and navigate your computer’s drives, folders and files
  7. Work with several of the default Windows apps
  8. Navigate the folder hierarchy and work with folders
  9. Manage files on your computer
  10. Work with the Recycle Bin to manage deleted items
  11. Work with Quick Access and shortcuts in File Explorer
  12. Use the Windows search function
  13. Manage your printer and printing tasks in Windows
  14. Understand and work with Microsoft Edge
  15. Manage user accounts
  16. Work with Windows security features
  17. Use several features to optimise the Windows operating system

Please note: This training will be delivered on Personal Computers in our computer room with a Microsoft Windows 10 environment. If you wish to BYO laptop, please make sure it is fully charged. You will need to bring your own USB to the class if you would like a copy of the student files to take home.
