Woody Allen: The Golden Years

From "Annie Hall" (1977) to "Husbands and Wives" (1992), Woody Allen had a sixteen-year winning streak of critical and often box office success. Prolific and consistent, the Manhattan-based writer/director eschewed Hollywood’s call, yet infused his work with famous stars from Michael Caine to Madonna and of course, Mia Farrow. Using comedy to explore relationship issues, Allen revitalized the romantic comedy genre then transcended it. Using clips from Woody Allen’s crowded resume, this course will provide a forum for discussion of the work of an American film genius – and a few laughs.
