The German Renaissance Painters: Durer, Cranach the Elder & Hans Holbein

These German Renaissance painters are well known names – but how were they connected to the religious reforms of Martin Luther. Who travelled to London and produced many of the portraits we associated with the court of Henry VIII. Whose signature was a winged snake with a ruby ring. And who produced the much loved 1525 image of Cupid complaining to Venus of the stings of love.

This class will be delivered online via the online platform Zoom. Enrolling students need to ensure they have an email, a reliable internet connection, microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer.
